LONG BEACH, Calif. (April 27, 2016) ― Four current and former elected officials from the City of Downey are endorsing Steve Napolitano in his bid for the 4th District seat on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, the Napolitano campaign announced today.
The endorsements are from Mayor Alex Saab and Councilmember Roger Brossmer, and former Mayors Kirk Cartozian and Mario Guerra. They are backing Napolitano in his bid for the nonpartisan Supervisor’s post in the June 7 election.
“I am grateful that influential and important leaders in Downey are placing their trust in my candidacy and my ability to effectively serve the people,” said Napolitano, who has been Senior Deputy to current 4th District Supervisor Don Knabe since 2005. Napolitano is a former three-term Mayor and Councilmember for the City of Manhattan Beach.
Napolitano is campaigning on the issues of public safety, education and the environment. In addition to fiscal responsibility for government, he is promoting economic growth and rebuilding our infrastructure. He is endorsed by Supervisor Knabe and more than 160 local elected officials from across the 4th District.
“I’ve worked hard to make government more responsive and responsible by providing independent, common sense leadership that puts people ahead of politics,” said Napolitano, who has 25 years of local government experience. “I know first-hand how to solve problems and get results.”
