Update on 2-year-old girl abducted from Downey home
I met some extended family members of the 2-year-old girl who was abducted yesterday from her mother’s home in Downey.
According to police, the girl went to the grocery store with a house guest around dinner time on Monday and never came home. Police found the little girl and the house guest this afternoon. The house guest was in custody.
The little girl was in the police department tonight running around and causing trouble like any decent 2-year-old would do. Cops armed with Teddy bears were trying to coax her into staying in one place.
I can’t say a whole lot more because the conversation with the family morphed from reporter/subject into friend/friend and I don’t feel right blabbing about a little girl’s life, especially because police, rightfully, put the girl’s name out to the media today to enlist the public’s help in finding her.
All I can say is I would bet the little girl’s life is probably going to change in a major way tonight, and I hope the government employees who are working with her have clarity of mind to make the best decision for the little girl and her mother. If you’re the praying type, you should probably squeeze in a little something for them tonight.
