DOWNEY – The Downey Unified School District is considering adopting an anti-bullying policy that asks the schools staff to do their best to intervene when bullies are bothering students.
The proposed rule also includes instructions for students not to tolerate bullying and to tell administrators when someone is getting picked on.
The district is also scheduled to approve some training to help staff combat bullying.
– The board will also consider a redistricting plan to balance out Downey Unified’s seven voting districts, which have gotten out of whack due to movement by students.
The board meeting is at 5 p.m. Tuesday at district headquarters, 11627 Brookshire Avenue.
