Get a front seat for a risky Mars landing

DOWNEY – The Columbia Memorial Space Center will use its giant screen to show a first-of-its kind landing of the Curiosity Mars rover.
The Space Center will start letting people in at 9:30 p.m. Sunday and Curiosity is expected to land at 10:18 p.m.
Curiosity is a car-sized rover, and it is being lowered down to Mars by a rocket-powered “sky crane.” The landing method has never been attempted. Click here for a great story about the a man who in charge of the landing team.
The entrance costs $5.

Telescopes will be outside for view while members of the audience wait for the landing.
