Symphony Guild hosting fundraiser, RSVP due Saturday

DOWNEY- The Downey Symphony Guild is having a fundraising “Country Western BBQ” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 10 at the Rio Hondo Event Center, 10627 Old River School Road.
For those who buy tickets early, the cost is $22 for adults and $12 for children 4-11. The cost at the door is $25.
The symphony asks that all people who wish to go to RSVP before or on Saturday, July 7. To RSVP, mail a check with attendees’ names to the Downey Symphony Guild, 9700 Garnish Drive, Downey, CA 90240.
Profit from the fundraiser will go to The Downey Symphony and their program “Music in the Schools”.
The Downey Symphony performs three concerts one in October, January, and April. They also perform “Pops in the Park” in August.
The “Music in the Schools” program, which educates children from elementary school to middle school,l has reached 22,500 students in the last 10 years in the Downey Unified School District.
