Parks and Rec department moving to Apollo Park

DOWNEY – Starting Aug. 13, the city’s parks and recreation headquarters will be Apollo Park, according to an announcement released Wednesday.

The department — formerly known as community services — is moving from City Hall. The city did not list a reason for the move on the announcement.

From the park, residents can:

Learn about programs

Rent park facilities

Rent fields

Make tennis reservations

Conduct business related to the Downey Cemetery.
