The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a measure for the county to run Downey’s City Council election on Nov. 6, the day of the presidential election.
David Gafin is termed out this year, and Planning Commissioner Michael Murray is running for his seat. Councilman Luis Marquez is up for reelection for the citywide seat, and Mayor Roger Brossmer is up re-election for the northwest district 3 seat.
Former baseball player Gabriel Orozco is running against Marquez, and no one has filed to run against Brossmer.
