Group to celebrate city’s theatrical history

DOWNEY – Promoter and Downey native Larry Dusich is putting a on a big display celebrating the Downey Children’s Theatre from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Downey Civic Theatre, 8435 Firestone Blvd.
Thousands of children participated in the theater before it was shut down in the 1970s.
Dusich wil bring out historical art and photographs.
The showing precedes the Downey Symphony concert “To Russia and Back” at 8 p.m. The concert features Kevin Fitz-Gerald on piano.
